Canteen

Our menu has been developed in accordance with the NSW healthy school canteen strategy, which outlines the type and frequency of food and drink permitted for sale through canteens in NSW government schools. It also supports the nutrition in schools policy which promotes healthy eating habits for all children.
We aim to provide nutritional food and drinks at reasonable prices. While the canteen is not a profit-making enterprise, any surplus funds accumulated are paid into the parents and citizens' association (P&C) funds to provide facilities and equipment for the benefit of students, including, most recently, our state-of-the-art kitchen upgrade.
The canteen operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the term.
Placing Recess and Lunch Orders
Recess and lunch items are available to purchase via Flexischools. Simply go online or download the app and fill in your details. All lunch items are made to order and are only available to purchase online. Recess items can be purchased online before school or over-the-counter at recess.
Please encourage your child to come and see us if they receive an incorrect order - mistakes can happen. We endeavour to rectify these situations immediately. If you have any allergy/dietary concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the canteen committee.
Volunteering
Over the years, the assistance of mums, dads, carers and grandparents within Mimosa Public School has significantly contributed to the welfare of the students of our school. Our school canteen continues to need the help of parents, particularly those who can join our canteen roster team. Did you know that we run our own canteen, with all profits invested back in the school?
Our canteen can only continue to offer a quality service to our students if we have reliable assistance. We need your help. With over 500 students, our canteen manager, needs a number of helpers to assist us in providing healthy, enjoyable lunches to our students.
Come and join in on the fun of spending a morning in the canteen, seeing the smiling students faces looking at you over the counter and also get a free lunch for you and your child or children!
Details are as follows:
•Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
•Full shift is 9am to 1:45pm
•Morning shift is 9 to 11am
•Afternoon shift is 11am to 1:45pm
•No cooking experience required
•Only one shift a month/term
