Student Leadership Opportunities
The Mimosa leadership team attend Davidson SRC meetings to receive mentoring in and modelling of leadership skills.
Mimosa Year 6 students also work with Davidson students to experience a 'taste of mentoring' in readiness for the students becoming mentors in older grades.
Both schools have aligned their student leadership election process for continuity.
Davidson Science Fair
Each year, primary students are invited to attend the Davidson Science fair and participate in Science lessons.
Participation in the Science Fair not only helps foster a love for science but also encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork among students. During this incursion young minds celebrate Science Week, share their scientific knowledge, and be inspired by the endless possibilities of innovation.
WABIAD (Write a Book in A Day)
Year 6 high potential writers and illustrators join Davidson High School students for the WABIAD project in Term 3 and complete training together with the Year 7 students. Write a Book in a Day is the ultimate test of teamwork, challenging writers to create something great within a 12-hour time period. Prizes and awards are up for grabs for state and national winners, and funds are raised to support childhood cancer research. A fun and inspiring writing competition enjoyed by all students.
