School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school events may include:

Year 5 Dancesport Program
Date: August 2026
Our Year 5 students participate in the Dancesport program every year throughout Terms 2 and 3 to learn about respectful relationships. The Dancesport Challenge held at Homebush is a highlight of our events calendar every August!
Big Bang Science Day
Date: Thursday 2nd April, 2026
Our students will be immersed in a day of science as they attend a variety of workshops to explore biology, ecology and entomology where students will explore minibeasts and the relationships of living things. Our little meteorologists, apiarists and ornithologists will also explore the weather and sky, birds and bees, learning about biodiversity and Indigenous Science practices.
Book Week Character Parade
Date: 23rd June 2026
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week.
Open day
Date: Thursday 6th August 2026
Time: 8:30am
School open day is an opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school.
Mimosa School Concert
Date: September 2026
Join us for a night of spectacular dance routines when every child performs at our bi-annual Mimosa School Concert!
STAR - School Readiness Program and Kindy Proms
Date: October 2026
Our School Transition and Readiness program is a welcoming program designed to help children become familiar with their new school environment. Children have the opportunity to experience 2 mornings at 'big school' while parents learn about the school and start building connections with staff and other families.
Held over 3 sessions, families are encouraged to attend both sessions to make the most of this important start to their school journey.
